An now for a change of scenery...
As many of you probably know this past month I made my way back to Merida for a few weeks of rest and relaxation with my folks and sister. Needless to say it was wonderful to get to catch up with friends and family and enjoy some great food. It was really great to be home but I was also really missing Jeanette and Emma. I am currently back in Finnmark and although the weather is "not quite" as nice as it was in the Yucatan... its still decent, well at least for Finnmark standards. The midnight sun has now given way to ever shorter days and before I know it we will back back in Northern Lights season... so there is that to look forward to! Anyway thats all for now!

Spring is in the air... or is it?
Well here we are in the final week of May and most of the snow has melted away... at least in town. This has of-course been aided in great measure by huge amounts of rain and steadily warmer temperatures. This being said, it does not really feel like spring... not yet anyway. There is still quite a chill in the air and the winds coming from the Barents sea are as frosty as ever... but then again, this is the Arctic after all. Last weekend we celebrated the 17th of May which is the biggest civic holiday in the country. Having celebrated the 17th of May in Oslo and Moss in years past it was fun to see the celebrations in Vadsø, which although smaller in scope where still fun. Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos.

Easter holidays and Nordkapp Trip pt. 1
With Jeanette and the little one "down south" in Østfold I have had some much reveled in time off. For the most part I have stayed at home working on a few projects, watching cheesy science fiction movies and eating junk food. However I also managed to squeeze in a road trip to Nordkapp with my friends Diego and Kerry. Nordkapp (or North Cape) is the most northern municipality in Finnmark and thus in all of Europe. Though not really that far north from our home base in Vadsø, the insane geography of Finnmark with all of its mountains and fjords means that is a good 8 hour drive (including all my stops to snap photos that is). As I am sure will agree from the photos, the area is quite beautiful and has a certain rugged kind of charm. Anyway enjoy the photos and check back soon for pt. 2!
