first post of 2009! (Parque de Oriente)

Well, 2009 is upon us, hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that 2009 is full of great shots! Anyway I thought I would start of the year with a few pictures I took when I went out with my dad to the "Parque de Oriente" Park. The park is the site of several sporting facilities and stuff like that, but of course what I was interested in was the prehispanic structures. Aproximetly five different stone structures can be found at the park which lay at the orient of Merida in what was once known as Che Tho (little Tho in Mayan). Although the buildings are not that large I think its really neat to find archaeology in urban areas. Anyway here are the pics.
